  • Major Achievements Registered by the Ethiopian Federal Police in Criminal Investigation Reform( Federal News)

    Before the reform, the rise in cyber and cross-border crimes, coupled with the increasingly sophisticated tactics of offenders, rendered traditional investigative methods alone inadequate for achieving the desired results. Furthermore, pre-reform issues such as human rights violations, poor investigation quality, and a loss of public trust were among the primary reasons that compelled the Criminal Investigation General Department of the Ethiopian Federal Police to undertake institutional reform.

    Under its legally mandated authority, it became necessary to reorganize the department to operate on the basis of modern procedures, technology, and the rule of law so that it could effectively investigate crimes falling under the jurisdiction of federal courts.
